About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in determining the suitability of donors
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining donor confidentiality
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions
- Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
- Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
- Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
- Work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical equipment, and extreme cold in the plasma freezer
Requirements
What you’ll need- Superior customer service standards
- A High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- An interest in making a difference in the world
- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
- Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to listen to and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences
- Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
- Ability to stand for 6 to 8 hours per day
- Ability to bend and twist neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day
- Frequent hand movement and precise coordinated finger, hand, and wrist movements
- Frequent foot movement; ability to squat, crouch, or sit on heels when needed
- Ability to walk up to 6–8 hours per day
- Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
- Ability to reach below shoulder height
- Essential hearing acuity
- Correctable near and far vision; vision requirements of 20/30 in one eye and 20/100 in the other eye
- Personal protective equipment required, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear
