About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in determining the suitability of donors
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain donor confidentiality
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions
- Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
- Set up, disconnect and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
- Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
- Work in a plasma center producing plasma-derived medicines and supporting transfusion medicine operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Superior customer service standards
- A High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- An interest in making a difference in the world
- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
- Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to listen to and understand spoken information and ideas
- Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
- Ability to stand for 6 to 8 hours per day
- Ability to bend and twist the neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day
- Frequent hand and finger movements with precise coordination to grasp and manipulate objects
- Ability to walk up to 6–8 hours per day
- Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
- Hearing acuity essential
- Correctable near and far vision, with specified visual acuity requirements
- Ability to work around biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical equipment and extreme cold below 32°F
