About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in determining the suitability of donors
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions
- Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
- Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
- Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
- Work in a plasma center producing plasma-derived medicines for patients
Requirements
What you’ll need- Superior customer service standards
- A High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- An interest in making a difference in the world
- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
- Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms
- Ability to use electrical office and laboratory equipment
- Ability to work in extreme cold below 32 degrees F while working in a plasma freezer
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold-gear
- Ability to stand for 6 to 8 hours per day
- Ability to bend and twist neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day
- Frequent hand movement of both hands and ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
- Ability to make precise coordinated movements to grasp and manipulate objects
- Frequent foot movement; ability to infrequently squat, crouch or sit on one's heels
- Ability to walk up to 6-8 hours per day
- Ability to lift 15 lbs. lightly, with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
- Ability to reach below shoulder height
- Essential hearing acuity
- Color perception/discrimination; near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and the other eye to 20/100
- Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
