About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in determining donor suitability
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer happiness and donor confidentiality
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions
- Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
- Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
- Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Superior customer service standards
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Interest in making a difference in the world
- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
- Ability to work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical equipment, and extreme cold below 32°F
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear
- Ability to stand for 6 to 8 hours per day
- Ability to bend and twist neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day
- Frequent hand, finger, wrist, and foot movement; ability to make precise coordinated movements
- Ability to lift 15 pounds, with a maximum lift of 50 pounds
- Essential hearing acuity and correctable near/far vision
- Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to listen to and understand spoken information
- Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
