About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in determining the suitability of donors
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions
- Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
- Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
- Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
- Work in a plasma center environment with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, laboratory equipment, and extreme cold
- Use required protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear
- Perform assigned tasks according to oral and written instructions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Superior customer service standards
- A High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- An interest in making a difference in the world
- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
- Able to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to listen to and understand spoken information and ideas
- Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
- Ability to work standing for 6 to 8 hours per day
- Ability to perform frequent hand, finger, wrist, and foot movements
- Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
- Hearing acuity essential
- Correctable near and far vision
- Exposure tolerance and ability to use required personal protective equipment
