About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in determining the suitability of donors
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions
- Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
- Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
- Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Superior customer service standards
- A High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- An interest in making a difference in the world
- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
- Ability to work in a plasma center environment with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical equipment, and temperatures below 32°F
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear
- Ability to stand for 6–8 hours per day and walk up to 6–8 hours per day
- Ability to bend and twist neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day
- Frequent hand and foot movement; precise coordinated finger, hand, and wrist movements
- Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
- Hearing acuity essential
- Correctable near and far vision requirements
- Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to listen to and understand spoken information
- Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
