About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in determining donor suitability
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions
- Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
- Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
- Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
- Work in a plasma center with potential exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical equipment, and extreme cold in the plasma freezer
- Perform work while standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Superior customer service standards
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Interest in making a difference in the world
- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
- Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to listen to and understand spoken information and ideas
- Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
- Ability to stand for 6 to 8 hours per day
- Ability to bend and twist neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day
- Frequent hand and finger movements and precise coordinated movements
- Frequent foot movement; ability to squat, crouch, or sit on heels as needed
- Ability to walk up to 6–8 hours per day
- Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
- Hearing acuity essential
- Correctable near and far vision and color perception/discrimination
