About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as general manager for a Plasma Collection Center with overall responsibility for center operations
- Manage daily operations, supervision, quality control, and compliance with policies and regulations
- Meet quarterly goals, labor efficiency standards, cost-per-liter targets, and quality KPIs
- Create an organizational environment that supports workforce morale and productivity
- Manage employees, staffing, training, quality goals, and operational changes
- Monitor and evaluate operations, develop action plans, and supervise process improvements
- Manage headcount and provide staffing projections to regional management
- Direct personnel functions including hiring, work assignment, development, training, discipline, termination, and personnel records
- Provide strategic direction and planning
- Mentor assigned teams, center staff, and other centers
- Oversee donor selection, plasma collection, shipment, and records through the Assistant Manager
- Ensure production employees receive adequate training and perform tasks to company standards
- Manage inventory and oversee ordering of goods and supplies
- Maintain facility cleanliness and equipment in good working order
- Oversee freezer management, plasma shipments, equipment failures, and freezer alarms
- Submit accurate daily and weekly reports
- Develop community representation and public relations and marketing campaigns to attract and retain donors
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, FDA-approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and cGMP
- Maintain donor selection, plasma collection, and manufacturing records
- Build rapport with donors to support customer satisfaction and long-term donation
- Prepare annual budgets and manage the facility to achieve production and quality goals within agreed costs
- Control center donor funds and ensure financial records are accurate
- Identify regulatory deficiencies and implement corrective action with the Center Quality Manager
- Conduct risk management reviews and investigate unsafe situations and complaints
- Perform center production tasks when needed
- Assume regional management oversight and mentoring duties for selected facilities or when the ROM is absent
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Science, Business, Nursing, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in clinical or general business experience
- Supervisory experience preferred but not required
- Prior management experience, preferably supervising a group of 20 or more employees
- Experience in a medical and/or cGMP regulated environment preferred
- Experience with plasma or whole blood preferred
- Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements
- Command of leadership, management, presentation, organizational, customer service, interpersonal communication, and computer skills
- Ability to understand, assess and communicate FDA regulations
- Ability to balance multiple competing priorities, ensure proper staffing levels, maintain adequate levels of plasma collection, and adhere to quality standards
- Ability to control costs and maintain a budget
- Ability to motivate staff to achieve established goals and standards
- Ability to develop positive relationships with donors, center employees, and company employees working in different geographical locations
- Developing command of and proficiency in at least one functional area, such as finance, IT, HR, or compliance
- Ability to relocate preferred
- Ability to work in an office and/or laboratory/manufacturing environment
- Ability to work around biological fluids, infectious organisms, extreme cold, production chemicals, moving machinery, production equipment, and high noise levels
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, and gloves
- Ability to sit for 6–8 hours per day
- Ability to perform repetitive hand movements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs
- Ability to frequently drive to site locations and occasionally travel within the United States
- Ability to communicate complex information and ideas clearly
- Ability to work independently and interact with diverse groups to obtain consensus
