About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform fundamental purification tasks within a GMP environment
- Clean and maintain the workplace
- Clean, assemble, disassemble, and sterilize production equipment, including filters, tanks, centrifuges, ultrafiltration units, columns, autoclaves, and pasteurizers
- Operate production equipment and forklifts safely and efficiently
- Perform bulk processing and filtration using parameters such as pH, weights, and suspension
- Perform real-time production documentation and maintain accurate records and logs
- Prepare buffer solutions and store process intermediates
- Dispense and prepare cleaning and sanitization reagents
- Isolate target proteins from intermediates, process them to sterile bulk, and deliver them for filling
- For Level II, operate spectrophotometers, perform pH and buffer additions, prepare samples, perform processing calculations, weigh and prepare powders, chemicals, and reagents, perform bulk preparation operations, and conduct pre- and post-filtration integrity tests
- Recognize and report mechanical and safety hazards to appropriate personnel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Basic math skills

- Ability to work in a team environment and exercise good judgment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bioworks Certificate preferred
- Level II typically requires a minimum of 12 months as a Technician in the respective department before consideration for advancement
- Level II employees must receive at least a meets-expectations overall rating on their most recent performance review
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand/walk continuously during the shift and work rotating shifts
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, chemicals, electrical manufacturing equipment, hand tools, moving machinery, high noise, extreme cold, and confined spaces
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment
- Hearing acuity essential
- Color perception/discrimination and depth perception; correctable far vision requirements
- Ability to communicate and understand information presented through spoken and written words
- Ability to perform routine tasks by following written or oral instructions/procedures
