About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
Select suitable plasmapheresis donors by performing physical examinations and taking medical histories
Follow the FDA-approved Standard Operating Procedure Manual, current state and federal guidelines, OSHA, CLIA, CGMP, internal company procedures, education, and experience
Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
Create donor awareness of potential hazards and administer donor consent forms
Educate donors regarding general health assessments and counsel them about unacceptable test results
Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events
Evaluate illness and medication histories to ensure continued donor suitability
Assist with employee training and coaching regarding medical SOPs
Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program

Requirements

What you’ll need

Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Registered Nurse
Current CPR certification required
Ability to perform work standing and sitting for up to 2 to 4 hours per day each
Ability to bend and twist the neck for 1 to 2 hours per day
Frequent hand, finger, wrist, and foot movements
Ability to make precise coordinated movements to grasp and manipulate objects
Ability to squat, crouch, sit on one's heels, walk, bend, and twist at the waist
Ability to lift 15 lbs. lightly and up to 50 lbs. maximum
Hearing acuity essential
Correctable near and far vision, color perception, and discrimination
Ability to communicate and understand spoken information
Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions
Ability to perform varied tasks under changing conditions
Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
Ability to work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical equipment, and extreme cold
Ability to use required personal protective equipment
