Key responsibilities & impact
  • Improve the technical robustness of existing methods, techniques, and equipment through new technologies
  • Troubleshoot deviations, technical issues, and problems across experimentation, collection, analysis, and documentation
  • Ensure adherence to milestones, timelines, and budgets
  • Interpret data to drive decisions, monitor metrics, manage queries, and support GDS R&D deliverables
  • Resolve complex data analysis issues and coach others on data challenges
  • Represent the function at interdepartmental meetings and communicate actionable data insights
  • Independently design and develop non-complex investigation protocols and procedures
  • Contribute to strategies and plans while identifying risks, dependencies, and limitations
  • Participate in patent filing activities, experimentation, and drafting filings
  • Evaluate the patent landscape for freedom-to-operate and new intellectual property opportunities
  • Develop new ways of working and improve technical processes
  • Identify outside collaborators and technologies for innovative improvements and new methods
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement solutions using academic and scientific resources
  • Organize, synthesize, and interpret information to answer key questions and support decision-making
  • Deliver presentations and create written and oral content using graphs, charts, and visuals
  • Assess risks and challenges, reprioritize activities, and mitigate risks
  • Set project and development objectives with manager input and construct action plans
  • Participate in project core teams and collaborate within a matrix structure
  • Propose efficiencies to maximize resources, reduce costs, save time, and improve quality
  • Participate in operational budget and financial discussions as appropriate
  • Comply with legal, quality, regulatory, and GDS policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, suppliers, and customers
  • Align activities with R&D strategy and organizational priorities
  • Utilize KPIs, processes, and performance measures
  • Pursue self-learning, feedback, industry events, trainings, and development workshops
  • Maintain knowledge of Grifols products, customers, competitors, and markets
  • Follow safe laboratory practices, GLP documentation, FDA regulations, validations, quality standards, CAPA principles, SOPs, and QMS

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required
  • Master's or PhD in a relevant field preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience with BS/BA
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience with MS
  • Minimum 0 years of relevant experience with PhD
  • Experience reviewing and approving requirements, investigation records, traceability information, risk-management updates, and technical documentation
  • Ability to interpret basic technical and statistical data
  • Knowledge of safe laboratory practices and environmental concerns
  • Knowledge of GLP practices and documentation
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, validations, or quality standards
  • Knowledge of corrective and preventative action, SOPs, and QMS
  • Knowledge of working in a regulated environment
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to work with diverse groups to obtain consensus
  • Color perception/discrimination required
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 35 lbs
  • Ability to work in an office and laboratory environment with exposure to biological fluids and potentially infectious organisms
  • Personal protective equipment required, including protective eyewear and gloves
