  • Prepare donors and perform venipuncture
  • Audit and monitor the collection process through donation completion
  • Spin blood products using centrifuge instruments according to IBBI procedures
  • Prepare components from centrifuged units
  • Transfer products and samples to proper storage
  • Pack blood, blood components, and samples for daily shipments
  • Prepare shipping memos and Bills of Lading
  • Assist with audits, mentoring, training, facility care, and continuous improvement activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Proficient in speaking and writing English, with legible handwriting
  • Bi-lingual skills where applicable
  • Ability to understand and follow SOPs and protocols
  • Ability to work flexible scheduling to meet business needs
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated, operations-intensive, high-volume medical business
  • Completed all elements of the training requirements for 1 area, designated by management
  • Typically requires no previous related experience
  • Expected to attain certification in 1 area within 90 days from hire
  • Ability to perform the physical, visual, hearing, and occupational demands described, including lifting up to 50 lbs and handling biological fluids
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
