About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and support regional safety training initiatives across the assigned area
  • Promote Groendyke’s safety values, mission, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Reinforce consistent, safe, and efficient work practices across the region
  • Support loss prevention efforts and safety performance goals
  • Partner with regional leaders and employees to reinforce safety expectations and behaviors
  • Communicate field observations, trends, and feedback to strengthen programs and practices
  • Travel frequently to deliver training and provide on-site support
  • Provide day-to-day direction during classroom and hands-on training sessions
  • Coordinate training support resources for groups of up to 15+ participants periodically
  • Work primarily in an office-based environment with regular time in field and operational settings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma required; equivalent experience may substitute
  • Extensive experience in safety or a related field required
  • Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA requirements required
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and sound judgment required
  • Class A CDL preferred; tanker and hazmat endorsements preferred
  • Driver Instructor experience preferred
  • Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong passion for safety and continuous improvement
  • Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences and personality types
  • HAZWOPER certification preferred
  • Strong organizational and process orientation with a focus on standardization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
  • Experience with Geotab, Samsara, Workday, and Smartsheet preferred
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, with walking and standing as needed
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs may be required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking, hearing, and seeing
  • Must be able to meet respiratory protection requirements, including a Pulmonary Function Test and respirator qualification
