About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain and enhance the GCP environment, including GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Storage, VPC, Load Balancers, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery
Apply SLI, SLO, and Error Budget concepts to ensure high availability and implement autoscaling strategies
Enhance the monitoring stack with New Relic, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and Cloud Monitoring
Create actionable dashboards and alerts
Build infrastructure as code using Terraform
Support deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
Develop automations for operational routines using Go, Python, and/or Bash
Troubleshoot production issues involving Linux, networks, and Kubernetes
Lead root-cause analyses and blameless postmortems
Apply governance policies, including IAM/RBAC and Secret Manager
Implement cloud cost optimization initiatives
Support the reliability, resilience, and scalability of a critical platform in a strategic project

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of experience with production cloud infrastructure
Solid, hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes in production (GKE)
Strong proficiency in Terraform, including creating and maintaining modules and managing state
Experience automating CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and applying GitOps practices with ArgoCD
Strong scripting skills in Go, Python, and/or Bash
Solid knowledge of network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS), Linux, and Load Balancers
Experience with FinOps, Disaster Recovery strategies, or Service Mesh (Istio, Linkerd) is a technical plus
Experience building developer portals or self-service pipelines (Platform Engineering) is a technical plus
GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect/DevOps) or Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD) are a technical plus
