About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and develop embedded software in C++17 (GCC) on Linux.
- Set up cross-compilation and integration on embedded targets.
- Debug on target using GDB, traces, and logs, and analyze performance.
- Develop communication interfaces with equipment and between components, including Ethernet, network protocols, and serial links.
- Write and execute unit and integration tests using GoogleTest or an equivalent framework.
- Write design documentation.
- Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement activities using Git, CMake, and continuous integration.
- Develop real-time tasks under Xenomai, manage multithreading and concurrent access, or design embedded C++ microservices with JavaScript components and Lua scripts.
- Work with a major player in the land defense sector on next-generation systems.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree: Master’s degree (engineering school or university) in embedded computing, embedded systems, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience developing C++ applications on Linux, ideally in an embedded or industrial environment.
- Essential skills: Modern C++ (C++11/14/17), GCC, Linux, multithreading, Git, and CMake.
- At least one of the following two profiles: Real-time systems: Xenomai, PREEMPT_RT, or another RTOS; Microservices: service-oriented architecture, JavaScript, and Lua.
- Preferred: Yocto, CAN bus, Docker, Node.js, and defense industry standards.
- French nationality required: the position is subject to defense security clearance requirements.
- Thoroughness, analytical skills, autonomy in debugging, technical curiosity, and team spirit.
