About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Take ownership of the analog board for a programmable 150 A switching module, from design through validation
Develop or update the board definition based on the Key Design Drivers, ICD, and block diagram
Create the electrical schematic, select components, and prepare the BOM
Ensure the BOM complies with the approved component database and incorporates manufacturability, supply, and obsolescence constraints
Prepare the Design Description and Justification Document (DJD), including calculations, simulations, margin analyses, and derating
Prepare the Routing and Layout Specification (SIR), including power, thermal, EMC, and insulation constraints
Monitor routing in OrCAD PCB Designer with the routing team
Oversee manufacturing with the Supply Chain and Industrialization teams
Prepare the Test Plan (HVTP), bring up and debug boards in the laboratory, and prepare the Test Report (HVTR)
Prepare and lead design reviews, defend technical decisions, and address comments
Produce the Design Definition File and review minutes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master’s degree (engineering school or university) in electronics, power electronics, or embedded systems
At least 5 years of experience designing analog electronic boards, including at least one development completed end to end (schematic → routing → manufacturing → testing)
Analog design expertise: operational amplifiers, signal conditioning and filtering, current measurement (shunt, Hall effect), and protection functions
Power electronics expertise: MOSFETs and drivers, thermal management, and high-current applications
Proficiency with OrCAD (Capture and/or PCB Designer) and a SPICE simulation tool (PSpice, LTspice, etc.)
Experience preparing design justification documents, routing specifications, test plans, and test reports
Laboratory experience with oscilloscopes, current probes, power supplies, and power loads
Technical English (datasheets and documentation)
Experience in aerospace, space, or defense, and knowledge of DO-160 / DO-254 standards, are a plus
Knowledge of SSPCs or electrical power distribution systems is a plus
Experience with worst-case circuit analyses (WCCA), derating, FMEA, and EMC constraints is a plus
Self-directed, detail-oriented, with strong documentation, synthesis, and technical decision-making skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with routing, industrialization, and supply chain teams
