About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and size metal components
- Select materials and manufacturing and assembly processes, particularly welding
- Perform or oversee mechanical strength calculations
- Prepare technical specifications and drawings
- Monitor qualification testing and analyze the results
- Provide technical oversight of suppliers and subcontractors
- Take classification society requirements into account
- Prepare the associated technical documentation
- Contribute to the design and qualification of metal components integrated into liquefied gas storage and transportation systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineering degree or a Master's degree (Bac+5 equivalent) in mechanical engineering or materials engineering
- At least 3 years of experience designing metal components
- Strong knowledge of metallurgy
- Proficiency in welding processes
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA)
- Good command of technical English
- Experience in the maritime, energy, oil and gas, or pressure equipment sectors is highly desirable
- Knowledge of cryogenic environments is an advantage
- Methodical and self-reliant
- Ability to work cross-functionally with testing, quality, and supplier teams
