About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead engineering activities related to pumping equipment in a highly regulated environment
  • Conduct integration studies for pumps within associated circuits and systems
  • Prepare or review preliminary design studies and detailed design studies
  • Monitor pump manufacturing activities with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Issue technical assessments of non-conformities reported by manufacturers
  • Define and schedule project tasks and milestones
  • Monitor the technical performance, budget, and schedule of activities
  • Participate in design reviews and the quality assurance process for engineering studies
  • Work with project engineers and interfacing disciplines
  • Identify, analyze, and monitor technical risks
  • Ensure the application of nuclear safety principles and methods
  • Contribute to the preparation and updating of the project’s technical documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineering degree or Master’s degree (five years of higher education), preferably in general engineering or mechanical engineering
  • At least 3 years of experience with rotating machinery, mechanical engineering, or industrial hydraulics
  • Initial experience in the nuclear industry is preferred
  • Experience with pumps or hydraulic equipment in other highly regulated industries, such as energy, petrochemicals, or pharmaceuticals, will also be considered
  • Strong understanding of the safety considerations associated with critical equipment
  • Technical rigor and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working across interfaces with multiple disciplines
  • Ability to manage suppliers and make decisions regarding technical non-conformities
  • Self-reliance and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Team spirit and ability to collaborate with project engineers from other specialties
  • Responsive approach to technical or scheduling issues
