About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze system requirements and translate them into software service requirements and specifications
- Write software specifications and associated design documents
- Define and manage interfaces, including ICDs, protocols, and exchange formats
- Ensure requirements traceability from the system level through testing using DOORS, Polarion, or equivalent tools
- Contribute to functional and software architecture activities with architects
- Collaborate with validation teams on requirements testability, test plan reviews, and gap analysis
- Participate in specification reviews and address comments
- Manage requirements changes and analyze their impact
- Act as the link between systems engineering and software development teams for land-based defense embedded systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree: Master’s degree (engineering school or university) in embedded systems, computer science, electronics, or systems engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in requirements engineering, system specification, or software specification within a complex embedded systems environment
- Strong knowledge of requirements engineering and the V-model
- Expertise in writing specifications
- Expertise in interface and ICD management
- Proficiency in requirements traceability using DOORS, Polarion, or equivalent tools
- Understanding of verification and validation activities
- French nationality required, as the position is subject to defense security clearance
- UML/SysML or MBSE experience is a plus
- Experience with Capella or Enterprise Architect is a plus
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as Ethernet and field buses is a plus
- Experience in defense or aerospace is a plus
- Initial experience in software development or validation is a plus
- Attention to detail, strong analytical and synthesis skills, excellent writing ability, the capacity to connect multiple teams, and technical curiosity
