About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Facilitate rapid-access medical intakes and provide enhanced medical support during members’ first weeks of treatment
  • Determine medical necessity and treatment appropriateness
  • Prescribe buprenorphine/naloxone and other approved withdrawal medications when appropriate
  • Maintain regular intake shifts and provide rapid-access telemedicine intakes across multiple geographies
  • Complete intake documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Support successful initiation of medication-assisted treatment during approximately weeks 1–4
  • Coordinate with community providers and transition new members into regular maintenance groups
  • Maintain a panel of maintenance members and serve as dedicated provider at monthly provider groups
  • Meet with buprenorphine patients at least every 30 days, in group settings or via compliant telemedicine
  • Provide phone and email support for patients’ medical issues between visits
  • Conduct medically necessary individual sessions to review patient progress
  • Maintain confidential, timely, and accurate medical records
  • Provide makeup-group and makeup 1:1 coverage, cross-coverage, and rotating urgent prescription on-call coverage
  • Facilitate access to the state prescription drug monitoring database
  • Complete encounter documentation and sign prescriptions on the same business day
  • Manage group and individual sessions and coordinate clinical schedules with office staff
  • Follow up on interprofessional communication
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and support of new providers
  • Collaborate with medical leadership on initiatives to improve early-treatment outcomes
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant with active state license in good standing
  • Willing and able to become licensed in multiple other states where Groups operates or will operate soon
  • Willingness and ability to become credentialed with all government and private health plans with whom Groups Recover Together is in network
  • Ability to see members in person at several state locations
  • At least 1 year of experience managing OUD with buprenorphine, preferably within the Groups Recovery System
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a team-based-care setting with behavioral health providers
  • At least 2 years of experience working with a similar member population, preferably within primary care or behavioral health setting
  • Ability to demonstrate recovery-sensitive behaviors, including choice of language, attitudes, and interactions with members and staff
  • Compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, payer requirements, HIPAA, and company policies
