About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Facilitate rapid-access telemedicine intakes and provide enhanced medical support during members’ first weeks of treatment
  • Determine medical necessity and treatment appropriateness
  • Prescribe buprenorphine/naloxone and other approved withdrawal medications when appropriate
  • Maintain regular intake shifts and provide coverage across multiple geographies and new markets
  • Complete intake documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Coordinate with community providers and transition new members into regular maintenance groups
  • Maintain a panel of maintenance members and serve as their dedicated provider at monthly provider groups
  • Meet with buprenorphine patients at least every 30 days
  • Discuss patient medical issues by phone and email between monthly visits
  • Conduct medically necessary individual progress sessions
  • Maintain confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA and applicable laws
  • Provide makeup-group and makeup-session coverage and cross-coverage for colleagues
  • Participate in an on-call schedule for urgent prescription coverage
  • Facilitate access to the state prescription drug monitoring database
  • Complete same-day medical documentation and sign prescriptions
  • Manage group and individual sessions to keep members and office staff on schedule
  • Maintain clinical schedules with office staff
  • Follow up on interprofessional communication
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and supporting new providers
  • Collaborate with medical leadership on initiatives to improve early-treatment outcomes
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant with active state license in good standing
  • Willing and able to become licensed in multiple other states where Groups operates or will operate soon
  • Willingness and ability to become credentialed with all government and private health plans with whom Groups Recover Together is in network
  • Ability to see members in-person at several state locations
  • At least 1 year of experience managing OUD with buprenorphine
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a team-based-care setting with behavioral health providers
  • At least 2 years of experience working with a similar member population, preferably within primary care or behavioral health
  • Ability to demonstrate recovery-sensitive behaviors, including choice of language, attitudes, and interactions with members and staff
  • Compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and payer requirements for telemedicine
  • Compliance with HIPAA and applicable medical-record laws and regulations
