About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and operate backend services moving data from warehouse queries to downstream systems
Improve event handling, query execution, result transformation, and delivery coordination
Investigate customer problems, identify solutions, and test and measure outcomes
Build and maintain APIs and integrations across major cloud data warehouses
Support the product’s move toward real-time capabilities
Participate in the platform team’s on-call rotation and respond to production issues
Restore service, communicate with stakeholders, and improve reliability and incident resolution
Fix correctness, performance, reliability, security, and operability problems
Build shared components, automation, documentation, and tools
Support engineers through code reviews, context sharing, mentoring, communication, and follow-through
Leverage AI tools daily and help build ML and agentic products

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of production coding experience
Strong foundation in Python
Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
Deep experience designing, building, and maintaining services, including end-to-end ownership and on-call
Experience with backend-heavy systems and distributed architectures
Experience with GCP or AWS
Experience building for reliability, security, and observability at scale
Experience using frontier technology such as AI agents
Ability to work effectively amid ambiguity and change
