About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate existing and emerging ingredients to develop evidence-based claims across the product portfolio
- Implement new claims across current and upcoming products
- Review marketing materials and ensure regulatory compliance
- Partner with Product and Marketing teams on ingredient benefits, new formulas, and early-stage product ideation
- Support first-of-their-kind product innovations
- Support clinical study initiatives by helping design and execute trials with internal and third-party partners
- Develop substantiation dossiers, scientific guidelines, and AI-enabled projects
- Upskill internal teams and embed scientific resources into onboarding and internal communications
- Identify research opportunities and drive projects independently
- Develop scalable systems for research documentation, claims tracking, and cross-functional collaboration
- Prioritize high-impact research initiatives and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Translate complex scientific concepts into actionable business strategies
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-5 years of experience in science, regulatory affairs, or product development
- At least 1+ year within the dietary supplement or food industry in a related capacity
- Master’s degree or higher in a health-related scientific field
- Deep understanding of scientific research methods
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to synthesize complex scientific information into concise, actionable insights
- Passion for uncovering new ingredient science and supporting product formulation
- Familiarity with FDA and FTC regulations related to dietary supplements, especially structure/function claims and substantiation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to tailor communication to technical and non-technical audiences
- Curious, solutions-oriented, collaborative, and organized working style
- Ability to create scalable processes and manage multiple projects
- PhD preferred
- Experience with clinical study design, management, and analysis preferred
- Understanding of dietary supplement labeling, GRAS assessments, and new dietary ingredient (NDI) submissions is a plus
