About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support projects related to compliance with Brazilian tax reform
  • Calculate and reconcile indirect taxes, including ICMS, ICMS-ST, IPI, ISS, PIS, COFINS, and others
  • Ensure compliance with ancillary tax obligations, including SPED Fiscal, SPED Contributions, EFD-Reinf, GIA-ST, and others
  • Support and/or lead tax improvement, automation, and review projects
  • Conduct tax risk analyses and propose process improvements
  • Handle tax inspections and internal and external audits
  • Analyze and interpret tax legislation, assessing tax impacts on business operations
  • Prepare and review calculation workpapers, tax reports, and internal controls
  • Provide technical support to internal departments, advising on proper tax treatment
  • Identify opportunities for tax credit recovery and tax savings
  • Monitor legislative changes and disseminate internal guidance
  • Liaise with consulting firms and law firms

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in tax
  • Advanced knowledge of Brazilian tax legislation
  • Experience with SPED and ancillary tax obligations
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Totvs, or similar platforms
  • Analytical, organized, and strong communication skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Postgraduate degree in Tax Law or Taxation (preferred)
  • Experience with tax planning (preferred)
  • Experience working at medium-sized or large companies or Big Four firms (preferred)
  • Knowledge of SAP (preferred)
