About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process payroll for the GuideWell family of companies
- Perform transactional and administrative payroll data entry, including benefit corrections, severance, PTO donations, deductions, direct deposits, duplicate W-2s and paystubs, garnishments, levies, child support, bankruptcies, military differential, leave coding, manual checks, subpoenas, workers’ compensation statements, security requests, and employment verifications
- Perform pre-payroll duties, including employee pay status changes, timecard audits, special payment validation, and pay variance audits
- Process payroll in compliance with state and federal regulations and internal corporate policies
- Serve as the first contact for payroll, time and labor, and web clock inquiries through phone, email, and help desk channels
- Research and resolve paycheck questions, including explaining net-pay calculations
- Provide information on employee self-service, company policies, and government regulations
- Manage paycheck distribution issues, communicate corrections, resolve issues, and process repayments
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures for payroll operations
- Identify and recommend process improvements
- Provide feedback on employee issues to management
- Collaborate with the payroll team to improve consistency and payroll processes
- Support employee record integrity and coordinate with Payroll Accounting
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years related work experience
- Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic knowledge of calculating a paycheck from gross to net pay
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Active listening skills to handle a volume of inbound employee inquiries
- General knowledge of Payroll and HR policies and procedures is preferred
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
- Experience with Oracle Cloud HCM Payroll module and ADP Payment Solutions is preferred
- Ability to perform sedentary work and occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force
