About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and oversee accounting, financial, and reporting functions
- Prepare financial statements, complex journal entries, and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Maintain accurate financial records and provide accounting guidance to other areas of the business
- Administer the Account Reconciliation Manager system, including maintaining accounts, preparers, and reviewers
- Monitor reconciliation status, publish reports, perform user acceptance testing, and review account reconciliations
- Support regulatory reporting, including Supplemental Health Care Exhibit, Medical Loss Ratio, and Pharmacy reporting
- Research, reconcile, and submit final regulatory reports
- Administer the MLR process and obtain attestations from process owners
- Coordinate with the Legal Department on allocations and journal entries for legal settlements
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years related work experience, with a minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role
- Related Bachelor's degree required in Accounting or Finance
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with accounting software and systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Must be able to travel to multiple locations for work
- CPA designation preferred
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Health insurance experience preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment preferred
