About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide oversight and serve as the functional and technical lead during development, implementation and testing of highly complex projects
  • Drive business architecture design, capability roadmap development and domain strategy development
  • Lead and facilitate business requirements gathering and determine technical impacts
  • Act as design lead with development leads and technical architects to establish technical designs
  • Review and clarify user stories and user acceptance criteria with stakeholders
  • Assume the product owner role as necessary
  • Lead development of system documentation, including flow charts, workflow tables, mapping documents and integration specifications
  • Provide system training
  • Develop an extensive understanding of business unit functions and communicate technical issues and solutions in non-technical terms
  • Lead production of detailed functional and non-functional requirements and/or user stories
  • Oversee development of user acceptance criteria, test plans and test cases
  • Oversee functional and user acceptance testing and obtain user sign-off for changes
  • Monitor system implementation, ensure user satisfaction and support implemented solutions
  • Provide operational readiness, implementation/warranty support, production support, project analytics and reporting
  • Lead efforts, oversee work results, provide training and mentor other IT Business Systems Analysts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years related work experience in an application development and/or systems analysis role
  • Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience in an IT-related field
  • Thorough knowledge of Information Technology fields and computer systems
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of integration points of assigned business systems and processes
  • Proven leadership abilities, including knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitation, fairness and assertiveness
  • Proficiency in requirements gathering methodologies and the SDLC
  • Understanding of architecture standards and ability to apply them in design work
  • Ability to communicate highly complex technical information clearly to all levels and audiences
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions consistent with business objectives and strategy
  • Extensive knowledge of systems, subsystems, development methodologies, systems architecture, tools and processes supporting assigned business initiatives or systems
  • Experience applying research methodology to business solutions
  • Knowledge of systems development concepts and methods
  • Experience with business requirements and business process analysis
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and facilitating adoption of changing priorities
  • Thorough industry knowledge in the related business area and understanding of organizational impact
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to build relationships
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to audiences with diverse knowledge bases
  • Preferred: experience using Agile methodology
  • Preferred: health care industry-related experience
