About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own application hosting and platform estates, including web, database, big-data hosting, PaaS, and middleware
- Own operational support for SaaS and third-party applications, including vendor coordination and service levels
- Own enterprise integration and batch services, including APIs, messaging, ETL/ELT, and scheduled processing
- Own DevOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, and automation functions
- Own the enterprise GenAI platform in partnership with the Office of the CTO on AI governance
- Own enterprise observability platforms for monitoring, logging, tracing, and telemetry
- Own the enterprise ITSM platform and its roadmap, health, and adoption
- Own incident, problem, and change management processes and lead Major Incident Management, including Sev-1/Sev-2 command and executive communications
- Own configuration management and the CMDB
- Own IT asset and software license management
- Own technology lifecycle, end-of-life/end-of-support tracking, and remediation planning
- Coordinate technology-controls responses for compliance, audit, and vulnerability management
- Own workforce IAM operations, including joiner/mover/leaver provisioning, access requests, and access certification
- Lead and develop director- and senior-manager-level leaders across both towers
- Govern internal-versus-partner-delivered sourcing and SLA/performance governance
- Own tower-level KPI/scorecards and use data to drive investment, staffing, and process decisions
- Partner with Finance and the Office of the CTO on TBM cost pools and unit economics
- Represent Operations Delivery & Reliability in architecture, change, risk, resilience, executive, and leadership forums
- Champion continuous improvement using ITIL 4 and Lean practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of progressive IT leadership experience
- Direct experience in application platforms/platform engineering and/or IT service management and service reliability within a complex, matrixed organization
- Experience managing and leading director-level or senior-manager-level technical leaders
- Hands-on depth in several of: application hosting, PaaS, enterprise integration/APIs and batch, DevOps/CI-CD and automation, observability/monitoring, and cloud-native application platforms
- Strong ITSM/ITIL foundation covering incident, problem, change, configuration, and service-level management
- ServiceNow platform ownership experience strongly preferred
- ITIL 4 certification a plus
- Experience leading Major Incident Management and structured problem/post-incident-review processes
- Experience with IT asset and software license management, technology lifecycle/currency management, and compliance, audit, and vulnerability remediation
- Familiarity with IAM operations, access certification, identity infrastructure, and information security
- Exposure to GenAI platform enablement and AI governance is a plus
- Experience managing outsourced application support and run operations, including SLA and performance governance
- Experience translating strategy into an execution roadmap
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Excellent executive presence, written and verbal communication, and stakeholder-management skills
- Experience with Lean/continuous-improvement methodologies is a plus
- 5+ years direct supervisory/management experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Must be able to travel to multiple locations for work
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, or other equipment
