About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own a full engagement module from framing through recommendation
  • Set and manage the module workplan, sequencing analysis and making trade-offs
  • Direct Analysts and Senior Analysts and own the quality of deliverables
  • Escalate early when answers, data, or scope require intervention
  • Frame hypotheses and choose analytical methods independently
  • Design analyses that answer the question and determine when directional answers are sufficient
  • Challenge conclusions and seek disconfirming evidence
  • Build an end-to-end module narrative and defensible recommendation
  • Make logic and assumptions visible to leaders
  • Present the module to project leadership and business-unit stakeholders
  • Guide junior colleagues, review work, and provide feedback
  • Codify methods into reusable tools, templates, and team intellectual property
  • Help onboard new hires and share team standards
  • Manage day-to-day business-unit stakeholder relationships
  • Build domain fluency in Medicare Advantage, commercial, pharmacy, or similar areas
  • Partner with finance, data owners, and subject-matter experts
  • Work within GuideWell’s in-house Enterprise Strategy team on major company questions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years in management consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development, or a comparable problem-solving role
  • Demonstrated experience owning a coherent problem area or workstream autonomously, from framing through to a recommendation
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Quantitative, analytical, business, or health-related field preferred; other majors welcome where the analytical toolkit is demonstrated
  • Strong structuring and quantitative skills
  • Track record of building a defensible narrative and presenting it to senior stakeholders under challenge
  • Ability to direct and review junior colleagues while remaining accountable for output
  • Domain depth sufficient to be credible with subject-matter experts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage day-to-day stakeholder relationships
  • Advanced Excel modeling and PowerPoint
  • Comfort working with imperfect or incomplete data
  • Sound judgment about when to escalate
  • Experience at a top-tier strategy consultancy or corporate strategy group preferred
  • Health care or insurance experience preferred
  • Depth in Medicare Advantage, commercial, pharmacy, or another specific domain preferred
  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI preferred
  • Experience codifying methods into reusable tools, templates, or team intellectual property preferred
  • Must be able to travel to multiple locations for work occasionally
