About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Investigate and solve technical problems associated with research, design, development, service, and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft
Solve typical engineering problems within the assigned discipline
Provide technical assistance to engineering staff and contribute to project milestones
Manage a complex engineering assignment or a less-complex full project
Follow established schedules while developing plans for engineering assignments
Obtain supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy
Apply company and organizational policies and procedures
Improve daily processes and ensure work meets customer requirements
Maintain current knowledge of technical principles, theories, concepts, developments, and applications in the assigned field
Apply engineering knowledge to solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
Convey technical concepts in written and verbal formats
Coordinate activities for lower-level engineering staff with supervision and mentorship
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree Engineering or a related curriculum required, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
18 months related Engineering experience
Experience credit for related advanced degrees is limited to 2 years for Master's and 4 years for PhD in an applicable field
Experience using CATIA V5 or similar 3D CAD software to create, update, and modify design engineering drawings/models
Ability to apply design standards consistent with company standards and accepted design methods
Willingness to work off-shift and weekend hours occasionally when program milestones require
CATIA V5/Smart Team experience required
Knowledge of interiors/completions monuments preferred
Experience in primary/secondary structure preferred
Experience routing and installing aircraft wire harnesses and integrating them into aircraft interiors using CATIA V5 EHI workbench is a plus
Mechanical engineering experience with aircraft cabin interiors and systems knowledge ideal
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
