Props Designer
Guru Studio. Work with the Director and Art Director to design 2D environments in the project’s style .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with the Director and Art Director to design 2D environments in the project’s style
- Visualize locations for interpretation by storyboard artists and the modeling department
- Interpret scripts and assess story-specific location design needs
- Prepare annotated location maps and designs for storyboarding
- Provide additional design support when needed, including props
- Contribute to the evolution of the project’s design
- Collaborate creatively in a time-sensitive environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent drawing and painting skills with a strong sense of spatial design, perspective and composition
- Great understanding of light and color
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop
- Excellent creativity and ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas
- Thorough understanding of environment design and how designs move through the production pipeline
- Ability to discuss, make decisions, and communicate ideas across a wide variety of aesthetic areas
- Understanding of the basics of 2D animation
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Previous experience is a must
