Provide in-depth technical web application programming expertise meeting technical specifications and business requirements
Research business problems and propose software solutions
Mentor junior programmers
Provide estimates and create functional and detailed design specifications
Convert system designs and technical specifications into program code for complex applications
Develop, test, and maintain complex application software
Comply with project standards and processes for quality software products and documentation
Provide project management for moderately sized, complex efforts
Debug and troubleshoot existing program code and correct errors
Provide level 2 support for systems-related issues
Apply software releases to production in a controlled, methodical manner and verify system stability after patching
Serve as a high-level technical expert in design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software and significant enhancements
Work with technical staff to understand software problems and develop specifications to resolve them

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (foreign equivalent accepted) or related field
1 year of experience in the job offered or an Applications Development Engineer (Java)-related occupation
Demonstrable experience with Windows, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python/React, Java 11, Spring Boot, FastAPI, Angular, Oracle, SQL Server, Visual Studio, MongoDB, Redis Cache, Google Pub/Sub, and IntelliJ
Experience with RESTful APIs for application integration and data exchange
Experience integrating RESTful APIs with warehouse management systems including Blue Yonder, Boomi, and Workato
Experience orchestrating multi-stage deployment pipelines across Dev, QA, Staging, and Production environments using Infrastructure as Code and automated CI/CD workflows
Experience with high-throughput Webhook APIs, asynchronous processing queues, and cryptographic verification using HMAC
Experience with dead-letter queue workflows and observability dashboards
Knowledge of API security including HMAC, OAuth, and SSL/TLS
Knowledge of distributed systems patterns including idempotency and circuit breakers
Experience with messaging queues including Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, and SQS
Experience with PostgreSQL queries and advanced CRUD operations under heavy workloads
Experience with Python FastAPI and Java Spring Boot frameworks
Experience implementing HMAC and configuring Google Cloud Platform Secrets Manager
Experience with Google Pub/Sub for asynchronous processing and system integration
Experience using UNIX shell commands, Git repositories, CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers and images
Experience with Compute Engine, Cloud Storage (Blob), and Google Pub/Sub
Experience using GCP CI/CD tools, Jira, and Agile methodologies
