About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with Operations to provide guidance on policies, procedures, and state and federal regulatory compliance
  • Keep management and Operations informed about internal and external HR developments
  • Facilitate new-hire orientation and ensure a positive onboarding experience
  • Maintain associate personnel files and training materials with current, accurate, confidential, and compliant documentation
  • Work with the leave administrator and management to handle and track short-term disability, workers’ compensation, FMLA, and personal leave programs
  • Implement and use HR metrics to measure performance
  • Assist with performance management, disciplinary actions for hourly employees, and terminations in partnership with corporate HR and Legal
  • Support the site Community Activities Planning Team
  • Conduct preliminary employee-relations investigations
  • Support Kronos payroll auditing and reconciliation
  • Support Employee Relations and People Culture HR customer service hours

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 2-3 years of progressive HR experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Experience working with HRIS and time/attendance systems
  • Knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including federal and state employment and benefits laws
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • 5 years of HR experience preferred
  • PHR or SHRM certification preferred
  • Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend shifts when necessary
  • Ability to comply with GXO COVID safety policies and CDC, OSHA, state, and local requirements
  • Conditional offer recipients may be required to pass a pre-employment drug test
