About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish and maintain standards
- Prepare staffing and efficiency analyses
- Identify cost-saving opportunities
- Coordinate operations startups and conduct other studies as needed
- Provide technical support and direction to Industrial Engineers
- Determine startup and ongoing personnel requirements based on activity levels and product profile
- Work with HR, Compliance and the Safety Manager to coordinate and deliver training on safety, environmental, equipment and process requirements
- Create equipment and operational supply lists and purchase requisitions
- Develop time estimates for process documentation, conversion of existing processes, and development, testing and implementation of new processes
- Publish startup landmarks
- Partner with IT to identify, document and test new functionality
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 5 years of strong engineering and managerial experience in industrial engineering
- Specific expertise in operational layout and material flow in distribution center environments
- Availability to travel 50% or more at times, depending on business needs
- Excellent attention to detail
- Quick learner with creative problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications
- Self-motivated, with the ability to influence and guide others in decision-making throughout the project life cycle
- Ability to train and develop individual talent and teams
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for the intended audience
- May be required to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must comply with GXO policies and applicable CDC, OSHA, state and local COVID safety requirements
