About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and handle a variety of transportation activities
  • Supervise day-to-day transportation operations
  • Act as a liaison for Transportation, Operations, carriers, vendors and customers
  • Lead and supervise transportation staff, including training and evaluating employee performance
  • Recommend or initiate hiring, promotions, transfers or disciplinary actions
  • Perform routing, planning, updating and tracking duties for orders and shipments
  • Analyze and resolve carrier performance and compliance issues
  • Track and trace shipments to ensure on-time, accurate and satisfactory deliveries
  • Provide shipment and customer updates as needed
  • Investigate and resolve issues submitted by customers, carriers and clients
  • Provide follow-up and reporting as required
  • Maintain and generate required reports
  • Process, audit and file documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 2 years of transportation or supply chain experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications
  • Ability to create complex formulas in Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred)
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills with experience effectively supervising, coaching and influencing employees (preferred)
  • Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
  • Ability to tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
  • Conditional offer recipients may be required to pass a pre-employment drug test
