About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Communicate with customers, vendors and team members to ensure customer commitments are met
  • Demonstrate understanding of GXO’s quality policies and establish procedures for maintaining quality objectives
  • Provide guidance to supervisors regarding personnel, quality and safety
  • Hire, train, develop and appraise staff
  • Recommend programs to improve operations
  • Handle equipment and coordinate maintenance needs with the maintenance team
  • Ensure records are maintained appropriately and reports are completed on time
  • Adhere to and enforce safe work practices and ensure warehouse compliance with OSHA and other applicable standards and regulations
  • Oversee warehouse operations critical to maintaining smooth operations
  • Support an engaged workforce, customer loyalty and efficient operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field (preferred)
  • 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience (preferred)
  • Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment
  • Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge and experience
  • Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials transportation regulations, including 49 CFR, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, and IMDG
  • Experience managing or supporting transportation, storage, and handling hazardous materials and chemicals
  • Knowledge of OSHA, environmental compliance, and chemical safety regulations
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety procedures across all departments
  • Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills
  • Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights
  • Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
  • Ability to tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
