About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee multiple operational areas critical to smooth warehouse operations
  • Communicate with customers, vendors and operations to ensure customer commitments are met
  • Establish procedures for maintaining company quality objectives
  • Guide the team on quality and safety
  • Hire, train, develop and appraise staff
  • Recommend programs to improve operations
  • Manage equipment and coordinate maintenance needs
  • Ensure records and reports are completed on time and maintained appropriately
  • Adhere to and enforce safe work practices and OSHA and other applicable standards
  • Demonstrate understanding of GXO’s quality policy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized scanner equipment
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field (preferred)
  • Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge and experience (preferred)
  • Experience developing long-term strategies and key initiatives to promote and achieve a culture of excellence and employee engagement (preferred)
  • Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL) (preferred)
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety procedures across all departments (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills (preferred)
  • Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights
  • Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to reach above the head, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
  • Ability to tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
  • May be required to pass a pre-employment drug test after receiving a conditional offer
