About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Communicate with customers, vendors and operations to ensure customer commitments are met
- Establish procedures for maintaining overall company quality objectives
- Guide the team regarding quality and safety
- Hire, train, develop and appraise staff
- Recommend programs to improve operations
- Manage equipment and coordinate maintenance needs
- Ensure records and reports are completed on time and maintained appropriately
- Adhere to and enforce safe work practices and OSHA and other applicable standards
- Demonstrate understanding of GXO’s quality policy
- Oversee warehouse operations during the 3rd shift, Monday–Friday, 9:00pm–6:00am
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized scanner equipment
- Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, potentially including weekends
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field (preferred)
- Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge and experience (preferred)
- Experience developing long-term strategies and key initiatives to promote and achieve a culture of excellence and employee engagement (preferred)
- Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL) (preferred)
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety procedures across all departments
- Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills
- Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights
- Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods
- Ability to reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
- Ability to tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
- Compliance with OSHA and applicable safety standards
- Conditional offer may require passing a pre-employment drug test
