About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, communicate, and implement the company’s consumer credit strategy
- Guide Product Managers and cross-functional teams in identifying customer problems, designing and developing solutions, and delivering impactful product experiences
- Collaborate with product teams to develop the overall financial services product portfolio
- Monitor industry trends and potential partners for innovative, low-risk products
- Partner with Risk, Operations, Compliance, Finance, Marketing, and Data Science teams to develop and improve consumer lending products
- Analyze product and portfolio performance by consumer segment
- Make credit and pricing recommendations to optimize acceptance rates, minimize losses, and increase profitability
- Work with Risk teams to develop and review underwriting models using traditional and alternative data sources
- Manage credit risk performance across lending products with internal and third-party partners
- Communicate business and product performance, credit issues, and recommendations to executive teams and bank partners
- Guide, manage, and coach a team of product managers
- Lead cross-functional company-wide teams
- Develop external partnerships to design, develop, and implement new products, services, or programs
- Report to the Vice President – Financial Services and participate in the product leadership team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in business, statistics, mathematics, economics or related field
- 8+ years of experience across business strategy, program or product management disciplines, with direct experience in credit and credit-related products
- Experience working in highly regulated environments
- Demonstrated experience defining creative solutions with risk and compliance stakeholders
- Experience guiding product and agile processes across teams and adjacent stakeholders
- Experience in team leadership and staff development, including leading, managing, and coaching a team
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with a variety of data sources and advanced modeling techniques
- Demonstrated experience modeling financial impacts and managing loss rates
- Strong communication skills with team members, cross-functional stakeholders, senior leadership, and bank partners
- Master’s degree preferred
- Startup leadership exposure, including building/managing product, design, strategy, and engineering teams preferred
- Experience with alternative lending products and models preferred
- Experience with sponsor bank relationships and regulatory agencies preferred
- Experience with multiple credit reporting agencies, decisioning systems, machine learning, and alternative data suppliers preferred
