About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build trusted relationships with U.S. expatriate clients throughout the tax preparation process
- Conduct comprehensive tax interviews and identify U.S. and international tax considerations
- Communicate tax information, filing requirements, next steps, and recommendations
- Address client questions and escalate complex or unresolved matters
- Analyze client information and international tax matters to prepare accurate U.S. federal and state income tax returns
- Apply quality standards and internal guidelines for tax return preparation, review, escalation, and referral
- Research unfamiliar or complex tax questions using internal resources and subject-matter expertise
- Guide clients through electronic filing or submission of required tax returns and documents
- Collaborate with Client Relationship Professionals, Tax Managers, and Expat team members
- Complete paid training and participate in continuing education
- Maintain knowledge of U.S. expatriate taxation and relevant foreign tax and financial systems
- Support client retention, referrals, acquisition initiatives, and growth of the Expat client base
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
- Ability to communicate tax and financial advice clearly and effectively with the public in a variety of situations, including public speaking engagements
- Circular 230 credentials (Enrolled Agent, CPA, or Attorney) or willingness to obtain within one year of employment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication
- 2 years minimum related work experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages (preferred)
- Customer service experience (preferred)
