About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in H&R Block’s 11-week Embark 2027 Summer Internship Program
- Conduct research and analysis supporting strategic and product decisions within Financial Services
- Analyze customer, market, competitive, and financial data to identify trends and opportunities
- Help develop financial and analytical models measuring customer value, acquisition efficiency, engagement, and other business metrics
- Evaluate existing metrics and data, identify gaps, and develop decision-useful insights and recommendations
- Partner with Product, Finance, Analytics, and cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives
- Synthesize research, data, and business discussions into presentations, models, and leadership recommendations
- Gain exposure to business decisions and trade-offs while taking increasing ownership of assigned work
- Participate in professional development, community service, networking, and culture workshops and events
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Seeking to obtain a degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a similar discipline
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Strong analytical, research, and written communication skills
- Ability to organize complex information and communicate clearly with diverse audiences
- Curiosity about fintech, product management, and strategy development
- Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team and independently
- Highly motivated, organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- No previous work experience necessary
- Preferred: ability to learn financial, analytics, and business intelligence systems such as Workday, Adaptive, Power BI, Adobe Analytics, Microsoft Excel, and Looker
- Preferred: strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Preferred: familiarity with financial modeling, business analysis, forecasting, or performance metrics
- Preferred: exposure to SQL, Python, Databricks, or other data analysis tools
- Preferred: ability to interpret data and translate findings into business insights and recommendations
- Preferred: interest in financial services, fintech, digital banking, product strategy, or consumer financial products
- Preferred: ability to work through ambiguous or open-ended business problems and communicate recommendations
