About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design end-to-end user experiences for responsive web products and workflows
Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and fellow designers throughout the product development lifecycle
Develop and test prototypes to validate ideas and gather customer feedback
Conduct and participate in user research activities, including interviews, usability testing, and concept validation
Translate customer needs, business goals, and research insights into effective product experiences
Contribute to and evolve the team's design system and design practices
Use modern design and prototyping tools, including AI-assisted workflows where appropriate
Present design solutions and rationale to cross-functional stakeholders
Continuously improve experiences through experimentation, iteration, and product learnings
Help H&R Block shape intuitive digital experiences for clients navigating taxes and finances
Contribute to product strategy and influence design practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), a related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience designing end-to-end digital product experiences for responsive web applications
Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design, interaction design, visual design, and product thinking
Experience partnering closely with Product Managers and Engineers to deliver customer-focused solutions from concept through launch
Experience creating, testing, and refining prototypes based on customer feedback, experimentation, and product outcomes
Strong communication skills
Comfort working independently in ambiguous environments
Commitment to accessibility and usability best practices
Experience planning and conducting user research, including interviews, usability testing, and other discovery methods
Ability to incorporate quantitative and qualitative insights to identify opportunities and improve customer experiences
Experience creating high-fidelity prototypes and partnering closely with engineers through implementation
Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools, emerging design technologies, and designing AI-powered or automation-driven experiences
Experience contributing to or working within an enterprise design system, including components, patterns, and documentation
Strong visual design skills
Experience designing products in financial services, fintech, tax, or other regulated industries
Ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive customer experiences
