About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and maintain software components and products supporting H&R Block business applications
- Serve as the lead for day-to-day functional team tasks, developer support, and development-environment maintenance
- Develop new product features and maintain year-over-year product functionality and enhancements using approved tools, languages, coding standards, and best practices
- Create and execute unit tests and address defects
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, User Experience, and related teams to align on requirements and approach
- Assist with planning and implementing strategic product direction
- Identify product design features supporting scalability, usability, and performance
- Drive technical design and code reviews for development-team enhancements and maintenance work
- Interpret complex business and functional requirements and produce technical specifications and product requirements
- Mentor and coach team members on technological advances and consistent best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
- At least 5 years of experience building web-based applications using the Microsoft technology stack
- 3 years of experience developing applications with Microsoft Azure cloud
- 3 years of experience developing web-based interfaces using HTML and Java Script Library
- 3 years of experience developing MS SQL-based applications and C#
- Experience building applications using Angular
- Knowledge of building environments using TFE
- Experience with Scrum methodology
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Experience with Azure DevOps platform or GitHub for source code, boards, and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
