About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Research customer needs and behaviors to identify opportunities and inform design decisions
- Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes for digital experiences
- Help design intuitive, accessible, and customer-centered experiences from concept through implementation
- Identify UX challenges and advocate for the user throughout the product development process
- Use customer feedback, research, and data to validate and iterate on designs
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Content, and Design partners
- Apply established design systems and standards while exploring creative solutions
- Participate in design critiques, product discussions, user testing, and cross-functional activities
- Present design concepts, recommendations, and rationale to team members and stakeholders
- Participate in Embark workshops and events covering professional development, community service, networking, and connected culture
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Seeking to obtain a degree in UX Design, Graphic Design, Computer/Human Interaction, Computer Science, or some similar discipline
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team and independently
- Highly motivated, organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Quick learner willing to work with new computer-based programs and databases
- Ability to be effective and contribute in a fast-paced corporate environment
- No previous work experience necessary
- Familiarity with UX/UI design principles, human-centered design, and user research methods
- Experience with or exposure to design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Basic understanding of user flows, wireframing, prototyping, and interaction design
- Interest in using customer feedback, research, and data to inform and iterate on design solutions
- Ability to communicate design ideas and articulate the rationale behind design decisions
- Portfolio, coursework, or project experience demonstrating UX/UI, product design, interaction design, or related work is a plus
