About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide critical advisory and strategic planning services to recovery clients
- Lead a large team
- Support local governments through long-term recoveries from natural disasters
- Oversee complex disaster recovery projects
- Leverage expertise in the FEMA Public Assistance Program—Permanent Work (Categories C-G)—to address post-catastrophic disaster issues and needs
- Serve as a FEMA PA Program subject matter expert and answer policy-related questions
- Oversee a multi-disciplinary recovery team across cost recovery, infrastructure redevelopment, economic development, housing, social services, and related areas
- Delegate tasks, assess staffing needs, and develop methodologies to meet unmet needs and maximize funding
- Maintain project management best practices and client visibility
- Ensure deliverables are high quality and uphold Hagerty's core values
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior support for local governments impacted by natural disasters through multiple federal disaster grant programs from the early onset of a disaster through grant obligation and closeout
- A minimum of four years of experience in the FEMA PA Program, including Permanent Work (Categories C-G)
- Demonstrated experience managing complex and dynamic projects
- High competency in written communication, including the ability to create nuanced/policy complex recommendation documents
- Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to present verbally to high level stakeholders
- Previous experience managing workload for large multi-disciplinary teams with varying levels of experience
- Strong proficiency with MS Office products, databases, and other software / technology platforms
- A bachelor's degree
