About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead consumer-first strategy for R&D across categories and operating units
- Ensure innovations and product portfolios deliver meaningful and noticeable superiority with consumers at purchase and in use

- Transform R&D consumer understanding capabilities using qualitative and quantitative methodologies

- Lead competitive understanding across categories and operating units
- Determine when testing, analytics, or synthesis should inform product, portfolio, and communication decisions
- Establish shared understanding of innovation fundamentals across R&D
- Provide guidance on product attribute specifications for superior products
- Manage and develop the CSPI organization, engagement, capabilities, and talent progression
- Identify talent sources for CSPI and R&D
Requirements
What you’ll need- BSc degree or equivalent in a field with statistical background, such as Engineering or Sciences
- More than 10 years of industry experience within a large FMCG / CPG business in an appropriate or associated function
- Ability to connect consumer sciences and product intelligence to tangible business outcomes and growth
- Ability to lead through others across a global network of individuals and teams
- Ability to drive a highly engaged global team through remote management techniques
- Experience managing multiple business priorities and categories
- Experience driving novel consumer sciences methodologies and actionable knowledge
- Ability to lead thinking and evidence underpinning product, portfolio, and communication decisions
- High data capability and fluency using the latest techniques
- Proven ability to understand consumers and identify insights that translate into business opportunities
