About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work closely with the Lead Artist and Creative Director to create a complex, rich and immersive world
- Collaborate with Code, Level Design and Animation to ensure all technical requirements are met
- Source and organise appropriate reference material
- Use concept art and/or reference to create unique and modular high-quality game-ready 3D assets
- Ensure assets are appropriately optimised for target platforms
- Work with external partners and the internal team to mentor and maintain consistent style and quality
- Troubleshoot and solve problems as required
- Join the project during early development and help establish the game's world and tone
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experienced and talented senior environment artist
- Candidates with experience of shipping a third person Unreal title on console are preferred
- Previous experience in a professional game development environment, with at least one shipped Unreal product
- A love of narrative-based games and a passion for environmental storytelling
- Proactive attitude, high self-motivation, great communication skills and ability to self-organise for remote work
- High level of written and spoken English
- Portfolio demonstrating 3D modelling and texturing with realistic assets only
- Portfolio demonstrating PBR material pipelines
- Portfolio demonstrating modular asset construction and world-building
- Good understanding of colour and composition
- Strong lighting skills, especially with Lumen
- Examples of workflow stages from start to finish
- Expert proficiency in Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop, and Unreal Engine
- Good technical understanding of current UE 5 technology, including Nanite, Lumen and PCG
- Nice-to-have: good understanding of current production processes
- Nice-to-have: some knowledge of Substance Designer
- Nice-to-have: traditional art/graphic design abilities
- Nice-to-have: good understanding of material creation and editing
- Nice-to-have: knowledge of techniques such as photogrammetry
