About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Purchase direct materials for assigned commodities according to MRP requirements from approved suppliers
  • Purchase indirect and MRO materials through purchase requisitions
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure supply and drive cost efficiencies
  • Review order action reports and take appropriate actions
  • Negotiate costs and evaluate and maintain inventory to target safety stock levels
  • Work with accounting to set up new suppliers
  • Coordinate with accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Manage purchase orders for accuracy, including costs and confirmed delivery dates
  • Review D365 released approved requisitions and convert them to purchase orders within 48 hours after resolving discrepancies
  • Resolve production shortages and provide updates to affected groups
  • Review assigned NCRs and process supplier returns promptly
  • Monitor supplier lead times and update the system as required
  • Communicate requisition and purchase order status to requestors
  • Build cross-functional relationships with intercompany departments supported by purchasing
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in Indirect and Direct Material Purchasing
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend written correspondence and reports
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels of staff and management throughout the organization
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with D365 and SAP is a plus
  • BS degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field from a regionally accredited University
  • 2 plus years of purchasing experience
