About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the department with projects involving designing, developing, testing, and implementing product components
  • Assist in planning and performing design development tasks from concept to implementation
  • Study and evaluate disciplinary or interdisciplinary aspects of new product or design concepts
  • Assist with planning and testing to assure adequate design performance throughout all stages of design and development
  • Complete documentation including task descriptions, specifications, testing, and implementation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have demonstrated strong analytical skills
  • Able to interpret data, generate graphs, and visually communicate test results
  • Understanding of basic programming logic and electrical circuit principles
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with other departments and company personnel in a service function
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must be able to work part-time (20 hours approx.) Monday through Friday
  • During summer break, expected to work 40 hours per week
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Science, Engineering program at University of Nevada, Reno
