About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide application, training, and technical support to customers for Hamilton products
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and the Hamilton Sales team
- Develop advanced, application-specific protocols for Hamilton products and complex automated instrumentation
- Troubleshoot application protocols and instrumentation
- Optimize liquid handling performance
- Provide basic and advanced software and hardware training
- Develop and deliver training material for Hamilton Sales and Applications teams
- Integrate third-party devices with complex automated instrumentation
- Use advanced programming skills and software functions to control instrumentation
- Participate in Factory and Site Acceptance Testing
- Contribute to the company knowledge base
- Support existing customers with additional protocols and training
- Schedule work according to customer expectations
- Document application support work and customer visits
- Work independently and make decisions based on experience and knowledge
- Maintain professional relationships with customers and co-workers
- Commute to customer sites and navigate within the designated territory
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciences or engineering, from an accredited not-for-profit institution or equivalent experience
- Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience utilizing laboratory automation or scientific applications
- Proficiency in programming or operating automated laboratory equipment preferred
- Experience with programming languages and a strong understanding of computer systems preferred
- Flexibility to travel within the designated territory
- Strong planning and customer relationship abilities
- Proficient in delivering effective presentations and excellent communication skills
- Competence in computer hardware and software
- Ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with software relevant to Hamilton products
- Valid Driver's License and successful completion of a motor vehicle history check
- Drug and background screenings required
- Ability to regularly commute to customer sites within the San Diego, CA region
